Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics.
Sampling for tests. Sampling for tests shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105 and as specified herein. The unit of product for test purposes shall be one (1) storage bin.

Examination. The box shall be examined for major defects in appearance of molding (thin spots on wall surfaces, unfilled ridges, bubbles, and inappropriate relief at edges and corners).
Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with this specification in accordance with table II.

Using a template as describe herein or Lewis Systems Part No. C041, test that the bin is capable of receiving the lid. Capturing elements of the bin shall have, at least, 0.005 inch clearance in the vertical direction. The top shall slide freely and easily and shall not be allowed to disengage except by sliding the top forward.
NOTE: This test shall be conducted before and after tests B, C, and D. |
B. |
Support the bin by its top rim. Place a cushioning pad inside the bin which covers the entire bottom. Load the bin with 50 pounds of pellets. Examine the bin for damage. Remove the test load and the cushion. Examine the bin for damage. There shall be no evidence of damage. |
